The Agricultural Lime Association (ALA) represents both the interests of the wider UK Agricultural Lime Industry, and specifically the ten major Agricultural Lime producing Member Companies within the Mineral Products Association.
The ALA is one of the constituent bodies of the Mineral Products Association.
Agricultural Liming is a fundamental aspect of soil husbandry which farmers throughout the world have recognised as playing a major role in overall profitability. The role of the ALA is to promote the benefits that the use of Natural Agricultural Lime products will bring, both to the farming industry and the wider environment. Whilst seeking to inform users of the quality they should expect from all suppliers, Agricultural Lime Association Members have adopted a Quality Code of Practice and to this end all products sold by ALA Members will conform to the current Fertiliser Regulations.
Additionally the Agricultural Lime Association has developed close working relationships with Government Departments and Agencies, Educational and Research Bodies to represent, promote and lobby for the industry in all regulatory and legislative issues both in the UK and Europe.
Membership of the ALA is open and encouraged from all companies with interests in agricultural lime, whether production, advisory, supply or application. With access to MPA/ALA resources, Members are encouraged to bring their experience to the association to help develop the industry of the future.
ALA are affiliate members of the Agricultural Industries Association.
